When I was initially asked to consider premiering this video for Brie Capone‘s second single ‘Enough’, I’d not come across her before. Any trepidation was rapidly set aside after hearing her voice, spine-stingingly soulful, it has a stop-you-in-your-tracks essence. The openness of the arrangements on Enough compliment and accentuate those qualities; her observations of loneliness with her honest yearning vocals taking centre stage....

"Hailing from Asheville, NC, Brie Capone is a singer/songwriter who channels the sweet vocal textures of Joni Mitchell in her higher register, with some Janis Joplin grit when she gets down to business. Mix in the fun pop sensibilities from the likes of Ingrid Michaelson and Feist, and you've got a pretty good idea of her sound. That's just my take, check out the sample below and see what you think!"
"Local singer-songwriter recently completed the music video for “Scars,” the first single from her new EP, Orbit. The record was recorded at Echo Mountain Studios last summer. The video, a collaboration with local filmmaker and director Andrew Anderson, was shot at Skinny Dip Falls. The meditative movement of water is well matched by the expressive piano playing and the gorgeous natural scenery sets the perfect backdrop from Capone’s soul-baring lyrics and aching delivery. “If I’m falling, I want to know you’re close,” she sings. “With love this open, I feel so damn exposed.” Find more of Capone’s music, info and upcoming shows at briecaponemusic.com. "Brie Capone is gorgeous in every way. The 20-something singer, who moved back to Asheville earlier this year, has a distinctive sound that is deeply soulful, intimate, jazz-inflected, and sensuous. She recorded her new EP, Orbit, at Asheville's own Echo Mountain Recording Studio. The album was released in August, and Capone has since decided that she and Asheville get along just fine. "
